Disney with Friends 2009

We try to be the very best zookeepers and do all that is asked of us. After being asked repeatedly and incessantly to take them to Disney World, we did. We went with some great friends and all the little monkees had a wonderful time. The zookeepers also had an amazing time getting to "hang" and trade strories with other zookeepers. And we get to learn alot of new handling tricks.

As you can see these monkees are quite fond of each other and just love getting to be together. They do seem to be a bit more active when together with their friends. When we put them all together and leave them without any supervision, they will start hanging from the rafters.

All in all it was a wonderful trip and took all of our minds off the illness with their grandmother. We hope they will remember this trip for a long time. If not, I guess we'll be going back to Disney World.

Merry "Kiss"mas

Well Christmas came and went very quickly for the Monkees. They were able to visit all kinds of relatives and friends. It was really great to get to see Monkeesee and Monkeedoo interact and play with their cousins Monkeemeetoo and Monkeewhoohoo. As always the grandparents were elated to get to watch them enjoy each other and all the candy they could shovel in.

During the holiday season, Monkeesee and Monkeedoo lost their paternal grandmother. It was a great loss for the both of them. Their lives have been altered and it has taken some time to get them back to what is seemingly like themselves. We will truly miss her.

The Restless Natives

Please pardon our delay. Things have gotten quite out of hand on the home front. The natives became extremely restless as cooler weather approached and the days shorten while the night linger on.
As you see Monkeesee and Monkeedoo were able to experience an authentic Thanksgiving for themselves. After being given full license to create traditional Indian wear, they paraded around proudly as beautiful Indian Princesses. They were also able to take nature walks in the beautiful woods in the middle of nowhere down Stiles Lane.
There was also an impromptu hayride that Monkeesee and Monkeedoo thoroughly enjoyed. Monkeedoo insisted that one of the trainers accompany her on the ride. Which was probably a wise choice, they were trying to escape and began scaring the local wildlife.
With things returning to somewhat of a normality, they returned to there lessons and are awaiting the next great adventure.
